Sales Report 2009

The second annual sale of Blue Texels on Friday 4th September held by McCartneys at Worcester market saw a flying trade. Unfortunately the six females catalogued were all withdrawn leaving many disappointed purchasers, but the remaining ten rams sold to the top price of 750 gns for Sue Andrew’s Miserden Oscar selling to Campbell & Son of Craigalbert, Ballantrae in Scotland. Top priced ram lamb was also from Miserden with Rodney changing hands at 600gns to Sarah Chambers in Devon. Both rams had been successfully shown throughout the year and carried unrelated bloodlines for their purchasers.

Overall there was 100% clearance with a healthy average of £428. The Blue Texel Society apologises to prospective purchasers of females and we hope there may be some females to interest you at the Builth NSA sale on Monday 21st September.

Builth NSA sale will be run by Harrison and Hetherington.

Lyle Jnr, Leven, Fife. Mr Lyle closely followed the breeding and secured her daughter, a yearling ewe that had won Female and Reserve Breed Champion and Reserve Interbreed Pairs at the Three Counties show this year at 1,750gns.
